Catholic Family Center Announces Board of Director Appointments and Honorees

Rochester, NY … Catholic Family Center is pleased to announce 4 newly elected Board members: William H. Castle, Sr., Derek M. Dalton, Ann M. McCormick and Miguel A. Velazquez. Each will serve a 3-year term beginning July 1, 2017.

William H. Castle, Sr. was the Chief Diversity Officer and Vice President, HR Business Process Effectiveness at Xerox Corporation. Castle served on the board of directors for Sisters of St. Joseph of Rochester Foundation and the Interracial Council Housing Development Fund of Rochester. Castle holds a bachelor’s degree from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan., and a master’s degree from the University of Memphis. He lives with his wife, Musette, in Pittsford, N.Y. They have three children and three grandchildren.

Derek M. Dalton became Vice President and General Manager of WHEC-TV in April, 2011. Prior to WHEC-TV Derek has overseen television stations and sales departments in some of the nation’s largest media markets including New York, Chicago, San Diego, and Denver. A graduate of Boston College, Derek makes his home in Pittsford, NY with his wife Karen and three children.

Ann M. McCormick served as Executive Vice Present and General Counsel of Home Properties, Inc. and its predecessor from 1991 until the sale of the company in 2015. She graduated from Colgate University with a BA and from Cornell University with a JD. Ms. McCormick also serves on the Boards of Greater Rochester Housing Partnership and Rochester Area Community Foundation.

Since joining RGRTA in 1999, Miguel A. Velázquez joined RGRTA in 1999, and oversees the Authority’s technology initiatives, Operations Department and was the Executive Sponsor for the $50 million RTS Transit Center in Downtown Rochester, which opened on November 28, 2014. Mr. Velázquez also serves on the Boards of the Al Sigl Center and the IBERO American Action League. Velázquez is a member of the Rochester Monroe Anti-Poverty Initiative steering committee, a Governor endorsed initiative to eliminate poverty in our region. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Rochester and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Rochester’s Simon School of Business.


The following directors are named to the CFC Honorary Board

The following Board members were appointed to CFC’s Honorary Board after serving 9 years as a Board member: Martin F. Palumbos, immediate Past President, Everton R. Sewell and Michael J. Sullivan. Each have served three 3-year terms (a total of 9 years) as Board members and have been appointed to their first 3-year term as Honorary Board Members.


Special note

Honorary Board member, Rev. Michael J. Bausch, has stepped down from his position after a total of 18 years of service to Catholic Family Center. Father Mike served as a Board member for 9 years, and an Honorary Board member for 9 years. CFC is so grateful to Father Mike for his years of service and dedication to the mission of Catholic Family Center.
