Children's Mental Health Clinic

Catholic Family Center's Child Mental Health Clinic is a NYS Certified Mental Health Clinic providing mental health treatment and medication therapy for admitted patients. Services are regulated and overseen by the NYS Office of Mental Health and the NYS Department of Health.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Service targeted toward, but not exclusively to, the Seriously Emotionally Disturbed (SED), the program provides services to anyone under the age of 18 whom, when evaluated, have, at a minimum, an AXIS I diagnosis as defined by the DSM-IV-TR. Some of the more common problems treated in the Clinic would include disorders associated with depression, anxiety, and adjustment to difficult or crisis situations. Also included would be thought disorders and some issues that may be related to learning disabilities. Most importantly, however, admission to the clinic is not certain until after a comprehensive evaluation has been done. Such an evaluation may take from 1-3 visits.

FEES: The Clinic accepts Medicare, Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care (Options Programs), Fidelis, and Blue Cross and their managed care programs. The clinic also sees patients based on a sliding scale as appropriate.

INTAKE PROCESS: Patients, usually by way of their parents or legal guardians, seeking services should call the Intake Screener in the Clinic Intake Office at (585) 262-7149. They will guide them the rest of the way regarding appointment setting, insurance requirements and any other questions they may have.

WALK IN HOURS: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
