Catholic Family Center strives to provide the best service to its clients and business partners.
Through a grant made possible by the Greater Rochester Health Foundation, CFC partnered with Monroe Community College to spearhead a medical interpreter training model in order to increase the quality of interpretation, provide culturally sensitive interpreters, reduce provider cost, increase LEP patient satisfaction, increase preventive health care counseling and decrease inappropriate ER visits.
CFC is a member of the American Translator Association.
Interpreters/Translators provide by Catholic Family Center are typically refugees or former refugees who are culturally and linguistically knowledgeable and familiar with their country of origin.
While they speak and understand their native language and English with varying degrees of fluency, Catholic Family Center is not able to judge or evaluate their competency and proficiency in their own native language. The agency does make a prudent and goodwill effort to the best of our ability to utilize interpreters/translators who we believe are competent in their native language.
Accordingly, Catholic Family Center is released from any damages that might arise from any interpreting/translation made by any interpreter/translator provided by the agency.
