Volunteer Highlights
Lindsey Spector is a junior at Nazareth College and a member of their Partners for Serving Program. Over the past school year, Lindsey and three other committed and compassionate students spent one night a week at one of our women’s and children’s shelters, Sanctuary House. They prepared meals and facilitated educational and recreational activates for the children staying in our residence. Catholic Family Center is truly grateful for their support and dedication. The children loved working with the students from Nazareth and the students from Nazareth enjoyed working with our clients. Lindsey said, “I am honored to assist Catholic Family Center at Sanctuary House, where the staff put the women and children first.”
In addition to Lindsey’s volunteer service to Sanctuary House, she immediately responded to the agency’s critical need for underwear. Lindsey took a leadership role in organizing a campus wide drive and donation collection. The items and funds were used to support clients throughout our entire agency. Because of Lindsey’s efforts, Nazareth College collected close to $400 and over 10 bags of brand new underwear.
Lindsey said, ”I was extremely impressed by Nazareth's strong support for the underwear drive so close to the end of the school year. The students, faculty, and staff never run out of enthusiasm for helping the community.”
