About the Program

Restart Outpatient Clinic offers evaluation and treatment to clients with a history of substance use problems. Restart is committed to providing the highest quality of care to all individuals seeking outpatient chemical dependency service and provides services in a holistic manner, addressing all of the life issues that impact on the recovery of our clients.

The program is designed to provide treatment to individuals at any stage of recovery and readiness to enter treatment. The program uses a motivational approach to assist clients to understand the benefits of change of their current substance use, and engage them in an individually designed plan of treatment. The program offers a range of services to meet the specialized needs of our clients, targeting gender specific needs and phases of treatment from stabilization to relapse prevention. In addition to treatment, the program also provides connection to essential case management services for clients with needs for other community supports such as housing, child care, medical services, etc.

What the Program Offers

A variety of services are available to all clients participating in treatment at Restart. These include:

  • Comprehensive evaluation for chemical dependency and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
  • Individual, group and family treatment
  • Specialized treatment tracks in Spanish for co-occurring treatment, phase 1 stabilization group, outpatient treatment, relapse prevention treatment and day rehabilitation services
  • Integrated treatment for mental health and chemical dependency treatment
  • Integrated trauma treatment
  • Medication assisted treatment using Suboxone
  • Pre-GED educational sessions
  • Onsite access to a variety of support groups such as NA and AA
  • Peer led recovery support groups
  • Onsite TB testing – Restart medical staff
  • Onsite hepatitis vaccinations through the Monroe County Health Department
  • Onsite HIV testing and counseling through Trillium Health
  • Mental health evaluation and medication management in collaboration with CFC's Co-occurring Mental Health Clinic
  • Collaboration with the Rochester City mental health and drug courts

Restart Outpatient Rehabilitation offers evaluation and treatment to clients with a chronic history of substance use problems and struggling with some key life skills, serious health conditions, and lacking adequate social support. Restart is committed to providing the highest quality of care to all individuals seeking outpatient chemical dependency service and provides services in a holistic manner, addressing all of the life issues that impact on the recovery of our clients.

The program is designed to provide treatment to individuals at any stage of recovery and readiness to enter treatment. Eligibility criteria

The Outpatient Day Rehabilitation serves adults 18 years and older with a history of substance use problems or a co-occurring mental health and substance use problem in addition to their family members. In addition, clients eligible for Day Rehabilitation services must also be experiencing challenges with key life skills (e.g., managing appointments, interpersonal difficulties, etc.) and have a lack of adequate social supports.

About the Program

For over 15 years, Restart has provided specialized treatment services for clients with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders. The Program continues to provide services to clients with co-occurring mental health and chemical dependency disorders in both English and Spanish in a specialized integrated group setting.

The clinical teams assist clients to manage their dual disorders through the support of an integrated team of staff from the mental health clinic and the chemical dependency clinic. Information related to addiction, relapse prevention, medication management and recovery from chemical dependency and mental health disorders is shared in group and individual settings. Program is staffed by clinicians with background in mental health and chemical dependency and utilizes case management support to assist clients with concrete basic needs whenever necessary.

About the Program

The program serves Latino clients 18 years of age or older and their families who are addressing issues related to chemical dependency, chemical abuse or co-occurring mental health problems. The program serves a diverse clientele including individuals who are monolingual in Spanish or minimally bilingual in addition to those with full bilingual capability. The program offers many activities to support the cultural values of the various Latino populations served while also addressing the challenges in addressing their addiction in the context of their own communities and families. The program also serves clients with co-occurring disorders in Spanish through specialized group services at both the clinic and rehab levels.

About the Program

The Restart Outpatient department has been involved with case management in the court system since its inception in the early 1970s. Restart has been a provider of case management services since the development of the Rochester City Drug Court and assists individuals to successfully engage in treatment.

What the Program Offers

Program provides case management, including referrals and follow up related to services to those individuals assigned to Catholic Family Center through the Rochester City Drug Court, DWI Court or Mental Health Court.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible, clients must be referred by the Rochester City Court to be monitored by Catholic Family Center.

Intake Process

Clients will be identified through the court system as appropriate for specialty court services. Individuals will then be selected as appropriate for Restart’s Drug Court Case Manager.

Program Cost

There is no cost to the individual for these services.

Gambling Treatment Services Support for recovery from gambling addiction

About the Program

Catholic Family Center Restart’s Outpatient Gambling Treatment Services are designed to enable and support individualized recovery from gambling addiction or a gambling and substance use problem.

The goals of our program include:

  • Establish and maintain abstinence from gambling
  • Create a support system that reinforces a gambling-free lifestyle
  • Develop new problem-solving and coping skills
  • Engage in healthy communication and functioning within the family
  • Integrate Mental Health Treatment and Medication support as needed

What the Program Offers

Through a range of individual, group and family sessions, clients can receive:

  • Problem gambling education
  • Individualized goal setting to address personal triggers to gamble
  • Strategies toward the attainment of long-term abstinence
  • Financial and debt management support
  • Family counseling to assist the family in understanding gambling addiction and the change process.

Co-occurring Substance Use and Gambling Treatment Groups occur during the day on Monday and Thursday.

Gambling only Treatment Groups will occur in the evenings on Monday and Thursday.

Individual and Family Sessions are arranged based on individual schedules.

Gamblers Anonymous support will be available on site.

Eligibility criteria

This program is only accessible to Harp eligible members of a health home, with a Care manager to refer them to the programs we provide.

Program Cost and Selection Process

Catholic Family Center contracts with most commercial and Medicaid Managed Care insurance providers. Coverage for Gambling Treatment Services is covered under most outpatient benefits plans. A sliding fee scale is available if an individual is not eligible for insurance coverage.
