Donate You have the power to give people hope

We celebrate how so many have given to CFC during this time of crisis. Thank You! Your generosity has enabled our staff to continue their work, and our agency to find new ways to serve effectively during this time of crisis.

We know that with your generosity, we will be able to continue to support those individuals and families facing increased depression, substance use, and thoughts of suicide, especially during this time.

Demand for our services is expected to increase dramatically. The areas of Rochester hardest hit by COVID-19 are the neighborhoods where most of our clients live and where our dedicated staff are serving. Thank you for helping us keep the spirit of hope alive through your contribution, in any amount. We are so grateful for your support!

No amount is too small and every gift is appreciated and will be put to immediate use. You may make your online gift securely using the form below. If you prefer to mail us a check, kindly send it to: Catholic Family Center, Fund Development, 87 N. Clinton Avenue, Rochester, NY 14604. Your support of CFC will bring hope to those who need it the most!

We help each other by "paying it forward". Someone helped me when I was struggling, now it's my turn to help another. I am grateful to give to others who need the help.

Adopt a Family You have the power to give families hope

You and hundreds of generous donors like you adopted over 300 families representing over 1,400 individuals this Season, plus another 500+ families and individuals through your Holiday Meal and Single Gifts of Joy gifts for our clients.

See some of the happy gift-delivery smiling faces here.

Heartfelt thanks from our staff and families

For the people we serve at Catholic Family Center, and their loved ones, your presents were more than just toys, gifts cards and clothing. You also gifted them with the sure knowledge that during one of the toughest times in their lives, someone kind and generous, a total stranger, was thinking of them and wishing them well. Thank you for making it a very special season for all.

Our staff wanted to share some of the heart-warming stories they experienced with their clients:

“When she (the client) saw the cards from the kids of the family who had adopted them, she started to, as our one of our front office staff said, “Boohoo Crying” because she was so touched by that extra little thought. Our staff was very moved by the client’s genuine gratefulness and emotion.”

“Each and every client who lives in the community was so grateful for the gift cards they received, and expressed joy and relief that they would have extra funds to pay for their holiday meals.”

“One of our clients lives in a group home that was under quarantine so he could not go out to shop for his favorite treats. We were able to use the gift card to buy him the chips, cookies, and soda he had been missing so much. We could not hand the bag to him due to quarantine, but he was able to watch the delivery through the window – he was smiling, clapping, and waving the whole time! He called us the very next day to express his gratitude, pleasure, and some advice: He suggested we buy 2 liters of soda to avoid paying too many deposits for the cans!

“I was able to see a mother pick up the gifts for her family, and she was so excited when she showed her husband an adorable Elsa dress from Frozen. Mom was so excited, saying her daughter had wanted one for dress up. It was amazing to see how the mother’s face lit up when she saw the gifts a stranger purchased for her family.”

“Dropping off presents for one of my families was a bright spot in a dark season. The family was struggling with not having a permanent home and there was nothing I could really do about it. The Christmas season was feeling pretty grim. But watching all those happy kids unload the presents from my car (and then immediately tear them open!) helped us all find a brief light through the darkness.”

“During such a difficult year, to be able to bring smiles and joy to clients is so remarkable. Thank you to all for the reminder that a simple act of kindness can go a long way.”

Thank you for joining us, and seeing the world through the eyes of a child. With hope, anything is possible. Thank you, stay safe, and be well!

Become a Sustaining Partner Today!

Our Sustaining Partners demonstrate a consistent commitment to our community by supporting the people served by Catholic Family Center on a monthly, ongoing basis. In 2018 alone, more than 30,000 people were served by our programs. You can be a part of a consistent funding stream for our essential programs, and have an immediate impact on your community. You can start, change or stop your gift at any time.

Why set up a monthly recurring gift?

  1. It’s super easy – set it up once and your gifts are automatically processed each month
  2. Monthly gifts provide a steady stream of funding that our programs and clients can depend on!
  3. Better to accelerate your mission and bring it to fruition! Even the smallest gifts can add up to make a big difference each month:

    $5/month

If 5 people set up a gift of just $5/month, your total giving by the end of the year can buy a year’s supply of diapers for a baby in our shelter!

    $20/month

If 5 people set up a gift of $20/month, you can heat one of our shelters for a month in the cold Rochester winter!

    $50/month

If 5 people set up a gift of $50/month, you can support a user in our RESTART clinic for up to 5 months of treatment!

Imagine what you can make happen with $100 or more each month!

You have the power to foster great change for Rochester’s most vulnerable people.

Please contact Molly Hicks at (585) 262-7172 for questions about our monthly giving program or sign up for monthly giving today.

By including Catholic Family Center in your estate plans, regardless of your income level or age, you can make a difference in our community for generations to come.

What are the most common types of planned gifts?

  • Bequests: One of the easiest ways to remember Catholic Family Center in your will is through a bequest. You may choose a portion of your estate, as a percentage or dollar amount, or gift the balance from your estate after other bequests have been made
  • Life Insurance: You can name Catholic Family Center as a primary life insurance beneficiary or as a contingent beneficiary should your other beneficiaries not survive you. After your lifetime, the benefits from your policy pass to CFC, free of federal estate tax. To make this gift, simply contact your insurance carrier and request a beneficiary form.
  • Retirement Plan Assets: Typically, retirement plan balances are subject to both income and estate taxes. As a nonprofit organization, CFC will not pay income tax on the distribution nor will the gift be subject to estate tax. You may use your IRA, 401(k), 403(b) and other retirement plan to name Catholic Family Center as your survivor beneficiary, removing some highly taxed assets from your estate and allowing lesser-taxed assets to remain with your beneficiaries.

What are the benefits?

Along with helping to ensure the future work of Catholic Family Center, planned giving can offer many potential benefits including:

  • Passing on your assets to loved ones with reduced estate taxes
  • Reducing or eliminating income taxes including capital gains, generation skipping, gift, inheritance and transfer taxes
  • Be a part of a special group of donors at CFC who are recognized for their generosity and foresight. Please let us know if you have provided for CFC through a planned gift and you will have the option to be included on our recognition wall and to be invited to upcoming events

Learn more about planned giving options by talking to your financial advisor. For more information about designating a gift to Catholic Family Center, please contact: Jessica Regan at (585) 546-7220 x7332 or email: jregan@cfcrochester.org
