Special Volunteering Opportunity

Looking to give back to your community in a safe way? Help answer phone calls from individuals seeking help with rent assistance due to the negative impacts of COVID-19 in the Rochester area.

When: We need you ASAP - now through the summer!
Where: 1645 St. Paul Street
Times: Looking for 9 hours per week at a minimum. Shifts available are:

  • Mon: 1pm-4pm
  • Tues: 1pm-4pm
  • Wed: 9am-1pm or 1pm-4pm
  • Thur: 9am-1pm or 1pm-4pm
  • Fri: 9am-1pm or 1pm-4pm

Essential Volunteer Duties & Requirements:

  • Answers calls in a call-center environment. Requires volunteers who are compassionate, well-spoken and thrive in an energetic environment. Customer service and bi-lingual skills are a gift and a plus.
  • Conducts a basic assessment of callers to gain understanding of their housing situation, financial assets and where they are in their eviction process.
  • Enters callers’ basic demographic into a database, requires basic computer data entry skills.
  • Directs callers to the next step for assistance either to external providers or into CFC’s program for help.
  • We would prefer volunteers who could commit a few months with a regular schedule due to importance of position and training.
  • Work environment is COVID 19 precaution compliant. Training and support provided.
