Important Information about our Language Services Program

Effective Monday, October 31, 2022, we are transitioning from our GLOBAL INTERPRETING PLATFORM (GIP) to a new scheduling product called ATRIUM. We have worked diligently to contact all of our customers and transfer data to the new platform, and are excited about this change!

About the Program

Our Language Services offers interpreting and translating services to the Rochester community, helping organizations communicate with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) clients and deliver services in a way that is culturally and linguistically sensitive and in compliance with Section 601 of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 U.S.C. Section 200d et. seq.

Our pool of trained interpreters includes speakers of over 20+ languages; specializing in the dialects of several local refugee populations.

Family and Community Services's Interpreters are bi-lingual or multi-lingual individuals who have been trained in:

  • Interpreting Technique
  • Code of Ethics for Interpreters
  • Confidentiality
  • Medical Terminology
  • Interpreting in Medical Settings
